Netball is the leading women's participation sport and the top team-based sport in Australia for 15 to 24 year olds. The Gap Netball Club is the biggest netball club in Queensland with playing options such as NetSetGO and Downey Park Netball Association (DPNA) Winter Season for girls and women aged 5 and older, and for boys aged 5 to 10.
The Gap Netball Club has a dual community and competitive focus, and teams of about 9 players are formed in different ways for different age grades.
Teams train at Hilder Road State School on weekday afternoons and evenings, and players turning 8 and older play in the Downey Park Netball Association (DPNA) Winter Season at Windsor on Saturdays. The Club also runs the NetSetGO introductory netball program at Hilder Road on Monday afternoons during Terms 1 and 4. All players are registered with Netball Australia and insured against accidental injury.
End of season celebrations are included in registration fees for NetSetGO and Downey Park Netball Association (DPNA) Winter Season players. All players receive a trophy or certificate recognising their participation and Winter Season teams also receive a team photo.
The Club has a Management Committee of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary, as well as Convenors responsible for various operational areas.
